Greenways
It seems a pity to let beautiful weather, with temperatures in the mid-to-upper 50's, in DECEMBER go to waste. So we went "hiking". In Illinois they have forest preserves, but here they have Greenways.
We found a nice one that is close to us. On the 0.5 mile paved trail we found soccer fields, tennis courts, and a nice playground.
